Okay, I’m now up to date with the dramas I’m focusing on for now, so let’s look over them shall we.
REPLY 1997 - This drama just gets more intriguing as time goes on. Shi won wasn’t the one getting engaged, but instead she’s pregnant, BUT WITH WHO’S BABY?! I also cried like a baby about her dad having cancer. It’s a good twist because it’s so realistic you know? He hasn’t got some weird disease, it’s something that most people can relate to because pretty much everyone has been somehow affected by cancer nowadays. Whether it was your parent, grandparent, sibling or uncle, you can still understand this. I really like how this drama is so realistic. It’s not like shi yoon ends up with Tony as she’d always dreamed, but it shows a natural progression of maturity and the growing process of a teenager. Let’s just say that tvN has indeed done it again.
FAITH - Whoever thought casting both Kim Hee Sun and Lee Min Ho was a good idea needs to seriously reassess their life. The age difference is actually ridiculous and you can tell. I laughed when her character called him ahjusshi, seriously woman? I also laughed when shi yoon talked about Kim Hee Sun in one of the latest episodes, within a drama THAT IS BASED 15 YEARS AGO. There is no chemistry between Hee Sun & Min Ho and that’s disappointing. Lee Min Ho on the other hand…. Seriously, can he just stop. Like, it’s not even fair how perfect he is anymore. His saeguk accent isn’t great, but the acting is, and he looks marvellous while doing it. The long hair is most likely going to kill me. Anyway, about the actual drama: it hasn’t really captured my attention all that much. I was really just more interested in Min Ho, and that’s not because I love him so much. It’s pretty meh so far but I’m hoping it picks up. In fact, I have FAITH that it will ;)
ARANG AND THE MAGISTRATE - Now THIS is a drama. It may be early to say, but I can see it becoming one of the favourites of the year. Shin Min Ah & Lee Jun Ki are perfection and their chemistry is just amazing. I may have also fangirled pretty hard at long-haired Yoo Seung Ho. But seriously, wow. I can’t wait for the next episodes. It’s funny, cute, interesting and emotional. And Jun Ki looks really good in the Joseon garb. I can actually see him becoming one of my biases by the end of this drama and I’m rather scared of that. Above all the dramas airing right now, I would recommend this.
TO THE BEAUTIFUL YOU - Yawn. Okay, sorry, it was always going to be hard to impress me with this drama anyway. What I can say about is that SM have definitely brought in all the cute boys in Seoul for this one. They could probably have done without minho though (sorry, personal vendetta against him). Sulli is outstanding however which is actually been a pleasant surprise. She actually looks like a very pretty boy also which is enjoyable. Lee Hyun Woo is gorgeous and I just want to cuddle him all the time. I had no idea Kwanghee was going to be in this drama, so that also was a kinda nice surprise as I’m a fan of ZE:A. Also pleasantly surprised to see Yoo Min Kyu again after Shut Up! Flower Boy Band. The person I fangirled the most over was of course Ki Tae Young who is looking EXTREMELY fine. Dayummm boy, if you weren’t married… Anyway, so far this drama has also been pretty meh. They have included the pretty central points from Hana Kimi, but it’s just not as ridiculously enjoyable as the class Japanese drama was. I’d say this would have a lot to do with the characters. The EXO-K cameo also surprised me seriously. I hadn’t been paying attention and then all of a sudden Mama started playing and it gave me a shock. Hoping that SM decide its a good idea to make more of their artists do cameos.
JUST FOUND OUT THAT KI TAE YOUNG IS PLAYING THE DOCTOR IN “TO THE BEAUTIFUL YOU” AND ALTHOUGH I’M STILL BUTTHURT THAT THEY’RE NOT MAKING THE DOCTOR GAY AND YUNHO ISN’T PLAYING HIM, I’VE JUST FOUND MY REASON TO WATCH THIS DRAMA. (but seriously, a gay doctor? that role was like MADE FOR yunho. i can’t believe they took out the gay part)
Oh my god guys, I cannot handle this much cuteness.
